Colonia Winery Visit & Asado Lunch

Leave the cobblestones of Colonia del Sacramento behind for a relaxed drive through the Uruguayan countryside to a boutique family winery. Walk the vineyards with your guide, taste premium wines and sit down to a traditional asado, Uruguay’s way of cooking over the fire. Prefer something lighter? Swap the lunch for a picada of local cheeses and cold cuts.

5 to 6 hours · Private tour · Boutique winery + asado lunch · Pickup at Colonia port or your hotel · From USD 178 per person, or USD 145 with a cheese and cold cuts picada (minimum 2 guests)

Why Visit a Winery Near Colonia

Colonia is Uruguay’s oldest wine region. Basque, Italian and Spanish immigrant families planted vines here more than a century ago, and many wineries are still small, family-run and welcoming, with the owners themselves pouring the wine.

The climate is mild and maritime, shaped by the Río de la Plata, which gives fresh, elegant wines. Tannat, the country’s signature red, is the star, alongside Merlot, Albariño and Chardonnay.
