Why Visit Luján de Cuyo
Luján de Cuyo is known as Mendoza’s “First Zone” and was the first region in Argentina to receive a designation of origin for Malbec. Its alluvial soils, sunny days and cool nights produce rich, velvety Malbec, much of it from old vines planted generations ago.
Districts such as Agrelo, Perdriel, Vistalba, Las Compuertas and Chacras de Coria sit just 20 to 40 minutes from Mendoza city, so you spend less time in the car and more time tasting. With more wineries than any other part of Mendoza, the region offers the full picture of Argentine wine: century-old cellars, cutting-edge wineries, large estates and cozy boutique producers where the winemaker might pour your glass.
It’s the classic choice for a first wine day in Mendoza.

Your Day in Luján de Cuyo
9:30 am: Hotel Pickup
We pick you up at your hotel in Mendoza city, Luján de Cuyo or Maipú, or at the airport, and head south into the vineyards.
Morning: Two Wineries
We usually combine a traditional, historic estate with a modern or boutique winery, so you can compare styles, see different ways of making wine and taste side by side. Your guide will introduce you to Argentine wine, its culture and its history along the way.
Midday: Wine-Paired Lunch at a Third Winery
Lunch is the main event: a multi-course menu of local cuisine at a winery restaurant, each course paired with the house wines and finished with dessert.
4:00 pm: Back to Your Hotel
We drive you back to your hotel at around 4:00 pm, with the rest of the afternoon free.
Every tour is private, so the pace is yours. Tell us what you like and we’ll adapt the day.
The Wineries We Visit
We like to mix traditional and historic estates with modern, innovative wineries, and well-known names with intimate family producers. Our usual favorites include Finca Ambrosía, Lorca, Clos de Chacras, Viamonte and Finca Bandini, with lunch at Lorca, Clos de Chacras or Martino.
