Why Visit Patagonia’s Wine Country
Patagonia is Argentina’s southern wine frontier. In Neuquén and Río Negro, vineyards are irrigated by the Neuquén and Limay rivers in an otherwise desert landscape, with strong winds, cool nights and a long, bright growing season. The result is fresh, elegant wines with natural acidity: Pinot Noir, Merlot and Malbec stand out, alongside crisp whites and sparkling wines.
The two areas could not be more different. San Patricio del Chañar, in Neuquén, is a young region of modern wineries built in the steppe since the early 2000s. The Alto Valle of Río Negro, among apple and pear orchards, is home to some of Argentina’s oldest vineyards and family wineries that have been making wine for generations.

Your Three Days
Day 1: Arrival and First Tastings
We pick you up at Neuquén airport and take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, your first visit to a local winery, with a tasting of Patagonian Pinot Noir and Merlot paired with regional cheeses and artisanal products.
Day 2: San Patricio del Chañar
A full day among the modern wineries of the steppe. Walk the vineyards with expert hosts, learn how wine is made in such an extreme landscape, and enjoy a wine-paired lunch with views over the valley.
Day 3: Alto Valle of Río Negro
We head to the Alto Valle to visit traditional family wineries and local producers, with a final tasting or a relaxed lunch at a family winery before your transfer to the airport.
Every day can be adapted to your flights, interests and pace.
