The perfect South America Trip for Wine Lovers

At Borravino Wine Tours we LOVE wine. Therefore, we designed a South America trip for curious travelers and wine lovers eager to immerse themselves in the local culture and its flavors. We offer a truly authentic experience, crafted by a local specialist in the wine and luxury travel world. The trip includes 8 days in the heart of Argentina: the vibrating city of Buenos Aires and Mendoza and its dreamy landscapes. The tour continues in Uruguay, to discover the magnificent Uruguayan wine experience, and Chile, the top 3 South America wine producing countries.

Argentina’s Malbec and Uruguay’s Tannat

The trip begins in Buenos Aires; you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to the hotel, where you can rest for the day.

On the second day, we will explore the city of Buenos Aires, familiarizing ourselves with its major neighborhoods and iconic landmarks during a private city tour.

The next day, we will embark on a day trip to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, to visit the historic quarter of the city (the Barrio Histórico, a UNESCO World Heritage site), and have lunch at a winery where you can sample Tannat and other renowned wine varietals of Uruguay, such as Viognier.

Uruguay 4 1
A South America Trip for Wine Lovers wouldn’t be perfect without Uruguay’s most renowned wine: Tannat

We will spend 3 nights and 3 days in Buenos Aires before flying to Mendoza.

After arriving in Mendoza, you’ll discover the Mendoza culture and city, nestled against the stunning backdrop of the Andes Mountains.

We will visit the Lujan de Cuyo wine region, Maipu with its olive oil farms, and the new and luxurious Uco Valley, home of the famous Argentine Malbecs.

My deep knowledge and carefully curated wine tours are not just for connoisseurs but for anyone who appreciates the art and soul of winemaking. You’ll have the chance to meet passionate winemakers, explore boutique wineries, and savor the region’s renowned Malbecs and other wines while learning about the fascinating history and traditions of Argentine wine.

Chile’s charm

After 5 days and 4 nights in Mendoza, we will cross the Andes via private ground transportation, arriving in Santiago de Chile for 3 days and 3 nights.

During this time of the South America Trip for Wine Lovers, we’ll explore the wine regions of Casablanca, Colchagua, and Maipo, and the picturesque city of Valparaiso, before reaching Santiago Airport on the final day.

Yet, our adventure extends beyond wine; we firmly believe that food is an integral part of any culture. That’s why we’ll guide you through a culinary journey, uncovering hidden places that only locals know. You’ll have the opportunity to savor traditional Argentine cuisine paired with exquisite local wines. From cozy, intimate, family-run bodegas to charming wine estates, you’ll partake in exclusive food and drink experiences that will truly delight your senses.

The guide’s goal is to craft an intimate and personalized experience for a small group of individuals who share a passion for discovering new wine and culinary experiences. No pretentiousness here—just genuine hospitality and a warm embrace of South America -especially Argentine- culture.

Damián, the designer of this South America trip for Wine Lovers

Damián is passionate about wine, traveling, meeting new people, and guiding visitors to discover the local culture. Some more info about him: “I was born and raised in Mendoza, the world-famous wine region, where I graduated in Business Administration. I have traveled all around Argentina and developed a deep love for wine. I often engage in winemaking in my garage, with the assistance of some talented winemaker friends. Being a health-conscious and active individual, I practice martial arts, enjoy cycling, and embrace various outdoor activities. I have a passion for sharing experiences, especially those related to wine, and I am always eager to learn from new people.”

The adventure continued in Uruguay: “I lived for 12 years in Uruguay, where I started my wine tour business. I quickly began offering wine tours in these new regions I discovered, and I was pleasantly surprised by the wine production in Colonia, Montevideo, and Punta del Este. I expanded my tours to include Mendoza, Buenos Aires, and Chile (Santiago and Valparaiso).”
